Cyber-bullying and Internet Safety

Workshop Description
Those who work with young people need to be alerted to the dangers of the increased use of the Internet for cyber-bullying. School counselors must be trained to combat this issue in a healthy, positive forum within the legal ramifications of the law, to reduce conflicts arising due to Internet exchanges. This workshop includes definitions and examples of cyber-bullying, defines state and local laws, provides an overview of the Isafe program, includes information concerning the latest teen uses of the Internet and group work using examples and analysis of currently used teen sites.

Steve Schneider for ASCA President

If you are an American School Counselor Member and have yet to vote for the next Governing Board President, please consider Steve Schneider who I believe is the right person for the job. Below is an email from him with a link to the voting booth.

Russ Sabella, Ph.D.

Dear ASCA Member,

My name is Steve Schneider, and I'm one of this year's candidates for President of ASCA.  I've been on the ASCA board for the past two years as the Secondary VP, and am very pleased by the current direction that ASCA is providing for our profession.  I'm also very excited about the movement toward even greater potential for ASCA's influence.  It's very important that the ASCA Board provides effective leadership in establishing the vision for school counseling.  Toward that end, if you have not already voted in the ASCA election, I would encourage you to take a few minutes to review the ballot and execute your right as an ASCA member to vote.  Here's is the link to the ballot

Sincerely,

Steve Schneider

The Time Elapsed Analysis & Reporting System (T.E.A.R.S.)

The Time Elapsed Analysis & Reporting System (T.E.A.R.S.) is a Microsoft Excel add-in that automatically calculates the total amount of time that you have spent in different aspects of your work. After exporting your calendar data from Microsoft Outlook to Excel, this add-in extracts elapsed time, sums up the number of hours in each category, and then produces both a table and a chart. If you ever wondered where your time goes, you will want to use T.E.A.R.S. to learn more.

Microsoft Word: Jumping to the Ends of Table Columns
Source:
WordTips
Word provides a handy shortcut that allows you to quickly jump to either the top or bottom of a column in a table. This can be quite helpful, particularly if you are working with very long tables. If you press Alt+PgUp, you are taken to the first cell in the column, where the insertion point is placed just before the first character in the cell. Likewise, you can jump to the last cell in a column by pressing Alt+PgDn. This moves the insertion point to the last cell in the column, where it is positioned just before the first character in the cell. If you try to use these shortcuts outside of a table, they have no effect.
