ANAD petition to ban dangerous websites National Association of Anorexia Nervosa and Associated Disorders: "ANAD is against all websites which promote anorexia or bulimia as a “lifestyle.”These dangerous websites are full of tips, photos and “thinspiration.”Pro-ana, pro-mia and thinspirational websites and blogs have a common function: they all encourage dangerous eating disorder behaviors. On these sites, images of emaciated models and statements promoting thinness at any cost can trigger those who are struggling, de-rail those in recovery and even lure those who are vulnerable.
The National Association of Anorexia Nervosa and Associated Disorders believes these sites are dangerous to any visitor. ANAD will continue to contact each major search engine and any site that promotes eating disorder behaviors with this petition and request the elimination of these sites."
